Open Science Meeting

Open Science has become an important issue in how we do research today. We want to pick up different topics in open science and talk about them in small groups. This is for newcomers to the topic, who 'have been doing things the same way for the last 25+ years' and experienced open science folk.

The format will follow a meetup structure with six short introductions to six topics, followed by small group discussion sessions. Everybody who wants/has to say something can contribute - you can also just listen.

Here are the topics in random order:

(a lot of the open science people are on Twitter - hence our Twitter handles):

Open science in teaching  | Susann Fiedler | @SusannFiedler
Pre-registration + registered reports | Michael Schulte-Mecklenbeck | @SchulteMi)
New(-ish) methods, old-(ish) problems: the case of thermal imaging | Rima-Maria Rahal | @rimamrahal)
How to start your local university Open Science Initiative (Miroslav Sirota @miroslavsirota)
Mass mobilizing undergraduate students in conducting pre-registered replications | Gilad Feldman | @giladfeldman
Launching a multi-site replication project on heuristics and biases in judgment and decision making | Lina Koppel @linakoppel

The meetup will be on Wednesday, August 21st, 5-6pm, Room A1.03
